Wedding in Coronado

For my first wedding of the year I shot for my friend and fabulous photographer, Leigh Miller (love her!). We had such a great time with this fun loving couple. And it's always nice to hang out with other photogs for inspiration and just to "talk shop". Here's a few picks from the day:

The church.

I loved the groom's attire.

Swords are cool!

Caution: Marriage isn't for everyone.

Fun at the beach:

Aren't they adorable?

I loved that the bride was taking polaroids!

Thanks for letting me come with you Leigh!

Niki & Mike, Wedding at Muckenthaler Mansion......

Last Sunday we shot this very brief wedding (only 3 hours) on the Muckenthaler Mansion but we still managed to take just as many pictures as 6 hour one! I won't even say how many because it's ridiculous!! Here's some of our favorites:

Putting on her earrings.

I just love the framing and her expression on this one that Jeremy shot.

How cute are these shoes? And his cute little face is adorable.

The happy groom.

The ceremony.

This was way fun! I actually fell when I took it.

Taking a moment to relax.

The couple's cute little guy. He loved getting close to the camera!

We teased them about this cake topper since it looks nothing like them.

This is awesome. It's the perfect picture of what marriage is like.

Thank you Niki and Mike!! We hope you had a wonderful honeymoon!

Heather & Joe, Wedding in Rancho Santa Fe.........

Heather and Joe got married in the cute little town of Rancho Santa Fe. We just did their engagement at a winery in September and had a great time with them. The day was beautiful; filled with the love of family and friends, and there was the best rainbow ever to top it all off!!

Some nice details.

Cool shots of the guys by Jeremy:

The beautiful bride.

The girls looked amazing with the colors, the flowers and their skin tone.

The kiss by Jeremy.

Larry the bagpiper. Heather's family is from Scotland so this was very appropriate.

The grand entrance.

The most amazing & unique rainbow I've ever seen. Heather didn't get to see it but she will be able to enjoy this picture for a long time!

Thank you Joe and Heather and family for having us. We had a wonderful time with you!

Silvia and Edgar

I was finally able to go through some of the images from last week's wedding with such an awesome couple. We just did their engagement and were looking forward to the wedding. They are both so nice and warm, we instantly hit it off with them. All of their friends and family talked about how wonderful they are and it's true!! And I guess Edgar was very persistent (there was a bit of stalking going on!) and that's how they ended up together. I relate; I too married my stalker!

It's always fun as a photographer to get cool stuff like this.

Edgar waiting at the church for his bride.

The bridesmaid bouquet with fall colors.

Jeremy got this cool angle of the ceremony in a beautiful old church.

Rowdy groomsmen are the best!!

Our favorite "shots" with the couple! It was yummy.

Thank you Edgar and Silvia for sharing your special day with us!!

La Venta Inn with Leigh

Saturday I shot a wedding at La Venta Inn with my photo-buddy Leigh Miller. (She's great!) I love shooting with Leigh. It's so much fun to be the second shooter. Here's a few that stood out to me:

The groom right before he sees his bride for the first time.

I loved how these beautiful ladies were looking out the door and how the light looks on their faces.

As always, thank you Leigh for having me!

My beautiful friends (Amy and Melody) in the cool mirror, making our bride gorgeous!

It started sprinkling and the groom looks concerned.

The cute table decorations.

Jamie and Brian

This wedding was in San Diego. The ceremony was at a beautiful spot in Coronado and then the reception was at the Westgate Hotel It was a lovely day, everything was beautiful and the couple was so relaxed.

The gorgeous flowers by Kim Kammeijer (kgkflowers@yahoo.com)

On the limo ride to the ceremony, we had to stop and get some champagne.

It looks like Brian is thinking, What did I get myself into?! He's one of the funniest people! His emails would always crack us up.

Our shots with the lovely couple:

They are off to their honeymoon in Italy for two weeks. We hope you have an amazing time! Thank you for sharing your day with us!

Deanna & Ryan

After a couple of weeks, I finally was able to put together a blog! Our adorable friends from San Diego got married September 9th after a long journey. Their day so perfect and we were so blessed to be a part of it. We are so happy for them. It was so hard to choose which pictures to put on the blog! That is why we'll be featuring them on our site as soon as we get everything ready.

Ryan's expression is great when he sees his gorgeous bride for the first time!

The guys cool vans. They all got a pair to wear for the day.

We love Deanna's Mom's expression in this picture.

Congratulations guys! Oh and here's some pictures of the after party that you missed!

Wedding at the L.A Arboretum

This sweet couple tied the knot at the beautiful L. A arboretum. When we did their engagement and after we showed them the pictures, she said they were so happy because they're not photogenic!! I was so surprised because they are so adorable and clearly in love. You can see their engagement here Here's the wedding day:

I loved her dress! It had this beautiful purple sash.

The bride's niece and flowergirl trying to steal the show! She wanted to give everyone some juice.

Cute little tea favors and lanterns at the reception. They had some of my favorite things; tea, purple, lanterns and parasols! And we had all of it at our wedding too.

The grand exit with bubbles. It's always fun to get these pictures.

Erin & Steve get married!

Erin & Steve are some of the sweetest people around. I met them awhile back and there was an instant connection. And I'm so excited for them to be getting married. We did their engagement, engagement album, save-the-date cards, invitations and now their wedding!!

The beautiful bride: Make-up: amymarieclarke@yahoo.com Hair: hairbymelody@yahoo.com

The groom with his amazing eyes.

What a great moment before she's walked down the aisle.

We had to get this through the glass window with the doors closed during the ceremony.

My version:

Jeremy's version:

It was such a great day and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for having us!

Wedding at the Surf & Sand Resort

What a beautiful day in Laguna Beach as usual! We hadn't met the couple since they're from Alaska so it was so nice to finally meet them! They turned out to be so cool. We really enjoyed our time with them. And the groom, Ben said, (and I quote) You guys are bad ass! (end quote) That is just about the best complement ever! Thanks guys!

Beautiful window light.

Jeremy's awesome shot of the couple feeding each other cake.

They offered us shots and how could we refuse?! And it was delish.

Love this light!

When life hands you lemons......

Make Lemonade!! That was the saying for the day since everything didn't go as planned. But fun was still had by all.

Her "something blue" initials inside her fabulous dress.

The first looks:

We loved these giant cards on each side of the head table.

Each table had a different game theme with flowers and decks of cards with their names to match!

I love this one Jeremy got of her dancing!

July 21st Wedding

We did this wedding Friday evening. It was a nice day with a couple that was all about having fun. It was good since we left for Yosemite 3 hours after the wedding (it was crazy and we'll probably not do it again!) Here are some of our favorites.

Cool reflections:

The groom and his GQ pose.

The flower girls.

I love this moment during communion.

You know it's really true love when the groom holds the bouquet!

This just about sums it up.

July 15th Wedding

This wedding was on one of the hottest days of the year! It had to be at least 100! But the wedding was in the church and the reception at the Anaheim Hills Country Club so we made it. The couple suffered through the heat with us for a little bit to get some really cool pictures.

Some details.

I love this momement Jeremy got.

Anita & Paul, Wedding at Crescent Bay Park in Laguna Beach....

Anita and Paul tied the knot at the beautiful Crescent Bay Park in Laguna Beach. We had the best time ever with this couple. It was so relaxing, everyone was nice and no one was stressed, not even the bride! Thank you Paul and Anita for making the day so great!

The rings with the invitation (the very creative bride made.)

The happy groom by Jeremy.

Melody (hairbymelody@yahoo.com) doing Anita's hair.

Loved her shoes!

The wedding party and all the guests:

This one is my favorite. Her dress is so fun to photograph!

Wedding at the Rancho Valencia

We had a wedding at the Rancho Valencia Resort in Rancho Santa Fe on Saturday.

The fantastic dress:

The colorful flowers and the cupcakes. I like how the flowers on the cupcakes match the tiles.

Great minds think alike. Jeremy got the groom and I took the bride; both with the leaves in focus and them out of focus.

The boy. He was fascinated by my camera!

The couple: aren't you supposed to put the ring on, not take it off?!

Jeremy took this beautiful one.

I love rod iron and swirly things so this worked out perfect!

My version.

Jeremy's version.

Chay and Rex

I got a little carried away at posting pictures for this wedding! It's hard to choose with both of us shooting so much! It was a nice day with a beautiful, relaxed couple. And there were so many cute kids.

The kids at this wedding were just so adorable!

We saw this beautiful colored door and it just happened to go with our logo perfectly!

Kids being kids!

It was hard for Jeremy to watch this but he made it through okay!

Katrin & Kyle's Wedding

Jeremy and I met Katrin and Kyle for the first time on their wedding day and we didn't know what to expect. The bride was so amazingly gorgeous and a sweetheart too. And the groom wasn't too bad either! We had such a great time with the couple and their families. And Jeremy and I got some really cool pictures. It was hard to choose which ones to put up!

The camera loves her! While I was taking her pictures I kept thinking she looks like Jessica Simpson. She says she gets that a lot.

In case you were wondering, this is what Jeremy and I do when there's some down time!

I love this of the guys. They always hate getting their pictures taken but this is much cooler.

The happy groom.

This is Kyle with his dad, the pastor and Katrin with her dad, giving her away.

Wedding at the Reef

On Father's Day, we shot our second wedding of the weekend at the Reef Restaurant in Long Beach. Amy and Melody did the make-up and hair for this wedding too. (Amy: amymarieclarke@yahoo.com and Melody: hairbymelody@yahoo.com)

This is what the flower girl gave to Tami. So sweet!

Waiting for Tami to come down the aisle. I love how blue the sky is.

Shellie and Dean's Wedding

One of my "sisters" I adopted, Shellie got married on Saturday. She looked absolutely beautiful. And it was a wonderful day filled with family and friends. And not only did Melody do her hair, but she coordinated the whole event as well. And Amy did an amazing job on the make-up. You can get a hold of Amy at amymarieclarke@yahoo.com. And Melody at hairbymelody@yahoo.com.

Laguna Beach Wedding

This cute couple was so laid back and nice. The day was perfectly punctual, which rarely happens! But it had to be the hottest day in Laguna Beach I've ever experienced. It was so hot and humid but as soon as the sun started going down, it was nice.

She has the prettiest eyes.

I like how her ring has blue in it.

The married couple:

The cake at sunset. It had it's own gazebo with lights and overlooked the ocean.

This was so special. They wanted to honor the Groom's grandparents since they have been married for over 40 years. So they did their dance while Kelly and Brett watched. I love the black and white one Jeremy saw.

Our friends got married!

Our good friends Leah and Mike got married Friday evening in San Diego. I've known Leah for several years (our claim to fame was a spur of the moment San Francisco trip when we were in High School. We had the best time ever.) And she was also in our wedding. We are so happy for them and you can tell by their smiles, they are happy too!

On our way to the room with the dress.

I love this angle Jeremy got. I'm surprised Mike could shave at all since he was so nervous.

The bridesmaid dresses were such a cool color.

I think they're laughing because they were surprised that communion was a wheat thin.

I got to join the party while Jeremy took pictures. All my girls in my wedding were there and we had a blast! I love my friends!

And this just had to get posted because it is so funny. Brandie, you're great!

Melody at hairbymelody@yahoo.com did all the hair.

La Jolla Wedding

This wedding took place at Scripps in La Jolla. It was a beautiful site overlooking the ocean. The day was perfect. The couple was so happy, the children had fun playing and dancing and the sun peaked through the clouds right at sunset.

Cupcakes that some of the kids made at the rehearsal. Kids were a huge part of the wedding day.

The dress from the front and back of the window.

The kids were so adorable!

Beach Wedding

We did this wedding in San Clemente at a house on the beach. The day was beautiful and the couple was so nice and laid back. (They even gave us shooters, see below) It's always fun to share the day with the happy couple, but especially when there's shots involved!

I love how she positioned her hands while the bridesmaids laced up her dress.

She has a special song from Top Gun played and this is when he realized it.

Check out the props that the best man used for his speech, all representing a part of the Groom's life.

Brides and Grooms: We're not only here to take your pictures, we can party with you too! This is the best drink I've ever had, called an Apple Pie. And that is what is tastes exactly like. Thank you to the best man for taking this.

Friday Wedding at Balboa Park

This couple was so adorable! I don't think either one of their smiles could've gotten any bigger! And I've never cried so much at a wedding. It was so evident how much they just adore each other.

The reflection in the elevator.

The first time they saw each other before the ceremony:

This little guy was so cute! He was helping me take his picture.

Saying their own vows.

The cool architecture of Balboa Park.

It's great that Jeremy is tall because he was able to get them w/the background.

Weddings with Leigh Miller

While in San Diego, I got another chance to shoot with the very talented Leigh Miller. It was such a beautiful wedding and nice couple. I was so relieved after trying to find the place for 2 hours! (that is why you should never forget your directions. I love to come up with new ways of getting lost!)

Here's some of the ones I find interesting. I can play since I'm the 2nd shooter!

Leigh and her obsession with doors! Why not, they're awesome!

Here's some other cool door shots with doors!

Here's the other wedding I did with Leigh Miller a couple weeks ago that I didn't have time to post.

Everyone went crazy over these flowers. I've never seen place cards done like that. Very creative.

His expression is great when he sees his bride walking down to meet him!

Thank you Leigh for letting me come along and for all your referrals. It's greatly appreciated!

April 22 Wedding

Last week I got the honor of second shooting for Jules Bianchi It was so much fun and the couple was just great. They were up for anything and so beautiful. And shooting with Jules was so inspiring! I really can't say enough nice things about her.

My take on the dress hanging shot.

I loved Jules' set up of the rings and bouquet.

This curtain was so pretty and flowey and looks so cool as the background with her ring and dress. I pretty much love anything as a silhouette. It might just be me but I think it's fantastic!

The beautiful back of the dress.

Jules and I loved this lobby with cool furniture and the couple looks perfect with it.

Again I want to thank the lovely Jules Bianchi for letting me accompany her to this wedding.

March 31st Wedding

Yesterday I shot a wedding at Canyon Crest Country Club. It was cloudy all day but it didn't rain until after the ceremony. I love the beautiful diffused light from the clouds so it actually turned out really good. And it was so much fun hanging out with everyone as they partied the night away!

March 11th Wedding

Today I ventured off to a wedding at the Shandon Hills Golf Course in San Bernardino. It was raining really hard most of the day so we couldn't use the golf course much. The couple was very nice and I had so much fun with them (and all the rowdy groomsmen) at the reception. They even fed me, which is greatly appreciated.

Hair by Melody Rachunok.

This one was taken by one of my associates Steve.

It was insisted that we take this photo by the man I fondly refer to as "That guy". You know, the guy that gets drunk, hits on you and is loads of fun. Yup, that's the guy.

Ahh, good times. Also taken by That guy. This dude is strong. He lifted all 110 pounds of me (yeah right in 4th grade!) No really, he is strong.

That guy again (one with his eyes closed). This almost didn't make it. Tongue guy tried to delete it from my camera. Therefore, I had to post it.

Bridal Shoot

For fun (and for our project) my friends and I did a bridal shoot but this time we were the brides. Melody did hair, Amy did make-up and I helped with the photos. My friend Steve (and brother-in-law to Amy & Melody) was kind enough to take the photos. I felt so glamorous. It made me want to get married again! But it was also exhausting! Now I know how my brides feel.

I don't know why but I've always wanted to do this. And it was great fun!

I was so exited to do this wedding. I always pray that God will give me the ability to take good pictures, not just for me but for the couple. It was so true with this couple I know from church. December 30th Wedding

I was so impressed with how laid back this couple was. They weren't stressed at all and were so nice to be around. They really enjoyed each other and their day to the fullest. Here are some of my favorites:

After they saw each other for the first time, they were all smiles.

When I was taking pictures of Erica, my associate was taking pictures of Erick. They were making each other and and us laugh. They were so much fun! (The happy groom by my associate Roya Jade.)

I loved all the lights in the church.

Max & Kate, Wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.....

This cute couple got hitched at the beautiful Calamigos Ranch, The Oaks setting in Malibu, Ca. They were so kind to us and made sure we ate dinner. And we had fun with them as they partied with friends and family that came all the way from Alaska and New York.

Pretty straps with nice beading, one of which broke off after a fun night of dancing.

We had a great time with this couple! They made sure that my husband Jeremy and I were well taken care of! The wedding took place in a beautiful setting outside at their friend's house. They actually had their ceremony at midnight. And then they surprised us all by setting off fireworks!

Right before she saw her husband-to-be for the first time.
