Do YOU know any 20 year olds that celebrate their birthday Princess style?? I do!

One of our family friends, Destinie turned 20 last month. So of course she had a Belle-themed party! Haha! Only Destinie. So here's some pictures she INSISTED on seeing on the blog!

Amy + John, Fun with Guns!

We did Amy and John's wedding four years ago (next month!) and we wanted to do something fun with them. So we decided to incorporate their guns, since they are quite found of them. Kinda like our version of American Gothic.

Interpretation number Two:

Happy Anniversary Next Month! We love you!

Portrait Shoot with Kristin....

Our photo-friend Kristin Rogers needed some new photos for her new website. It made me feel really good to be able help another photographer out! I know we, as photogs can feel quite uncomfortable in front of the lens so let's just hope she likes them and can use them for her new site!

Here's a few of my faves:

She brought her vintage camera.

Super cute!

What could be better than a vintage camera AND a faith tattoo?!

This one might be my fave!

Here's just one from our shoot.

Just for fun we took a more serious old style portrait and we love how it turned out. It was Jeremy's idea and with my processing touch.

We'll have another blog with the rest of their session soon!

My Mom's head shot

My mom, (also known as Diana) needed a head shot for her work. She's the Senior Director of Orange County ROP. She tells me what exactly she does but somehow I always manage to tune out...oops!

Isn't she sooo cute?!

Btw, my mom is the most difficult person I've ever shot! I don't know what it is; she's just really hard to get making a good face. As she said, "The true essence of Diana can not be captured!" hahaha!

Finally, we got a great one:

Thanks Brandie Bedell for giving us pointers on the make-up!

Kacee Geoffroy, Make-up Shoot...

After the wedding on Saturday, Sunday I did a shoot for my client-friend, Kacee Geoffroy to show off her make-up artistry. I had so much fun shooting these girls! I was told that I had a knack for making them feel comfortable and relaxed, which made me feel really good! So if you need a portrait or B-Session, I'm your girl!

Here's my favorite of each girl:

Meet Kacee! She's the make-up artist. She's just as cute and nice as she looks!

A collage of some of my faves.

I really love this one.

Just cause I really like the feeling of this!

Van Zoest Family Couples....

For just a few minutes of this fam shoot, we stole each couple away from their kiddys for some fun portraits. We always enjoy seeing the reaction (when it comes time for pictures) of a couple who has been married a few years. When you're married a long time, you're not used to this!

A special shoot....

I know this is long but I really do hope you read it all!

After we shot The Heimstra's Fam Session, Jeremy had an idea to take just the two of them for a shoot by themselves. They've been married for 22 years and have never really had a good shoot done. We didn't know this going into it but we wanted to do something fun and different. They were up for it. Jeremy drove around all day looking for the perfect burned up place and he found it.

It was really touching to see a couple that has so much love and passion for each other after all these years. We can only hope for half of what they have! We realized after doing this that we want to do more! So we decided to call these types of shoots our "passion shoots." And we can do it for new couples or couples that have been married for years. The concept is kinda like a Trash the Dress but one doesn't necessarily have to wear the wedding dress. The point is to have fun, get dirty (hopefully!) and get some really great photos where the experience will be remembered forever.

The images came out great. More importantly I feel like we were changed just by doing this. It was definitely an experience!

So here is Jeremy's vision. There's a lot more that we can't post because it's too personal. But here's what we can:

Shoot on the Tracks.....

Last week we went to the train tracks to shoot our sister-cousin-niece-friend (that's what we call her) Cassie. She always does something unusual for her Christmas Shoot. We had so much fun!

A train came.

So Chrismas-y!

Jeremy got this amazing shot.

Christmas Cards!

Now is the time to start thinking about those Christmas Cards! We still have some openings left in October and November if you want to schedule a shoot with us. Or if we have already done a previous shoot with you, we'd love to design some cards with your favorite pictures. All of our shoots for the months of October and November include some type of Christmas Card so send us an email or give us a ring and we'll set something up!

Here's some examples of some of our customized designs. This is the 4x5.5 folded horizontal card.

Bryon & Darci part One ....

We shot the first ringed/fam session with Bryon and Darci. They have such a cool vision for their shoot and we even made a story board. And without knowing it, we had three themes going on: Flare, shadows and frame within a frame. Weird how both of us did it.

Jeremy and Darci found this abandoned house. Home Sweet Home:

I even heart Jeremy's flare:

More shoots in Yosemite......

The film is developed. And I finally am able to do Yosemite part two. This is a long post since I am cramming eveything in here! We have three more shoots, cross processed and holga film and scenic pictures to show you. Take a looksy:

Some cool Cross Processed Film:

From Steve and Chrissy's Shoot.

Cool Holga image of the cute little church.

Scenic bikeride:

Across the view from the pic above are these cute little houses.

My amazing adorable comfortable bike.

Half Dome at sunset.

A deer in the meadow:

Shoot with Destine. We always tease her that she looks like a manaquin so I call this "dead manaquin girl".

Early morning fam/maternity shoot:

Another cross processed film image.

Owen couldn't be any cuter if he tried!

I love this Holga image of Owen.

Yosemite Flowers.

This cross processed one came out so cool!

And Lastely, after we did everyone else's shoots, we tried to do one for ourselves. We attempted a Trash the Dress Session with me and Jeremy that we'd be planning for months, but due to unforeseen circumstances it didn't work out. Jeremy did manage to get these two really great shots of me in my wedding dress for all of 10 minutes of our shoot:

An Experiment in Painting with Light...

In order to get ready for a shoot we have for Friday, we decided to do some testing with ourselves. Painting with light is a really fun photo technique that I first learned in High School. And we've been wanting to try it for awhile.

We really like how these turned out so we wanted to share!

I LOVE this one Jeremy shot of me outside our place.

He always has his eyes closed.

Jeremy and his buddies came over to get something and they asked why we had the camera all set up. He showed them and they both wanted to try it. So here they are:

Jony Bos.

Steve Bos.

Stay tuned for more adventures in painting with light!

Senior fun with Amber...

We did a shoot for our familia (I can use that because they're Mexicans!) with Jeremy's cousin Amber for her senior pictures. She, like me isn't happy with boring, posed pictures from the studio that provides them for the school. So we wanted to do something more fun. We decided to go to the The Mission Inn to find cool places. Amber was so much fun to shoot and we got some really great stuff!

Here's some of our favorites:

Our girl is growing up!

Jeremy shot these and I thought they make an awesome collage.

Jeremy got this. So Amber!

Fun with brick:

I heart swirly things!

And how cute are we??

Thanks for being so fun on your shoot Amber!!

Marla Mae

Jeremy and I did a shoot with Amanda, aka Marla Mae. I was sooo excited because I love pin-ups and pretty much anything Vintage. It was really fun shooting her! Thanks to Melody, hairbymelody@yahoo.com who does hair and Amy, amymarieclarke@yahoo.com who does make-up. You gals did a fantastic job, as usual!

It was REALLY hard to choose so I'm just posting a few of the modeling ones now. I'll post the ones of her and her boyfriend David when I get more time!!

I love this red and her red lips.

The hair stylist, Melody also my best friend took these of us!

Me getting my cute shirt dirty for cool photos.

This was our favorite plane.

Senior Pictures at a Dairy

We did a very fun senior shoot with Derek. I actually went to school with his sister so her mom, Sherri hired us for the senior pics. We had such a great time walking around their dairy, Alger Farms. We get excited about things like dairies so it was very cool for us.

Their dog sitting on his throne. He's so sweet.

I don't care what anyone says, hay is rad....

.....and so is tin.....

......and brick.

Cool boots! She bid on them at a wedding in Montana as they were the centerpieces.

Jony Bos

Friday evening we did some photos for our friend Jony Bos. Not only is he a cutie but he's talented as well. He plays the guitar, writes and sings. He can also play the bass really well too. And ladies, he IS single.

I would like to point out to the 3 people that read my blog: this shot was Jeremy's creative vision. Very cool.
